Troubleshooting
TV will not turn on
Look at the standby indicator and try the TV’s own power button. The position of the button and meaning of the light vary by model, so use the model label when opening the manufacturer’s instructions.
Work through these checks
Compare the remote and the TV button
Try the physical power button described in your TV manual. If the TV starts there, continue with the remote’s battery, charging or pairing instructions. Note whether either control produces a response.
Check the external power connection
Check that an accessible power cable is properly connected. Use a known working outlet and the correct power supply for the model. Stop using visibly damaged cables or a device showing signs of overheating.
Distinguish no power from no picture
Listen for programme audio and try Home or Settings. A TV that responds but shows no picture needs the black-screen checks. An indicator being off alone does not establish that the TV is broken.
Use model-specific power recovery
Follow the manufacturer’s power-cycle instructions when appropriate. If the TV still will not start, record a steady or repeating blink pattern and contact support. Keep the casing closed and let a qualified technician investigate internal faults.
What did you find?
- The TV button works
- Continue troubleshooting the remote control.
- No response with a working outlet
- Give the manufacturer your model and indicator observations.
